About Milly Holz
In November 1974, some 32 years ago, the fifth edition of The Estate Agent magazine appeared on the shelves of South African newsagents. The cost 75 cents. Within its pages though, was the wisdom of a man, whose insight at the time was both extraordinary, uncanny, and without price. On the People and Opinions page, there was a section headed “Women in property”. The editor had written, “Milly Holz is one of the personalities of the Johannesburg house selling scene. Alert, a fine sense of humour and compassionate, but underneath it all there lies a fierce determination to succeed, and the heart of a lion”. Milly had said in the article, “I’m in this game forever, but I also enjoy charity work and if ever I become a lady of leisure, that’s what I’ll do.” The Editor concluded “One can imagine Milly Holz being a driving force behind any organization doing charity work, but a lady of leisure, no. Her character simply doesn’t fit that mould. Before long she’d be right back where the action is – probably making it too.”
When these observations had been made, Milly was only three years into the industry. Thirty three years later, with hundreds of property sales to her credit, Milly as predicted by the insightful editor, is making the action.
After spending her entire sales career with Jawitz Properties, and having been instrumental in building that business, Milly is now in her own business as Milly Holz Properties.
Milly’s complete involvement in property, never allowed her the time to realize her hope of contributing more to charitable organizations, but her intrinsic empathy, generosity, and concern for fellow man, has been the gain of both her buyers and her sellers. A woman with unwavering ethics, Milly had also stated in the same article, “The effects of a property sale are far- reaching on both buyer and seller and members of the public, particularly first buyers, are in the hands of the agent. An agent can strike while the iron is hot, certainly, but never to the detriment of the parties.” Time has not altered this sentiment.
Having won every highest award and accolade on a yearly basis at Jawitz Properties, the following extract was taken from a letter written by Chairman Eskel Jawitz referring to the presentation of the Highest Rand Value and “Consultant of the Year” awards in March 2006.
Dear Milly,
Its not often that I am at a loss for words but when I think of all the letters of congratulations that I have had the pleasure – indeed privilege of writing to you over the years – and all the awards you have won in our Company – and are still winning, and still setting the pace –and still the benchmark against which so many in our industry measure their own performance, I really do not know if I can find the words to express my respect and admiration for your achievements for which you are quite amazing.
Your success is almost beyond description and is testimony to your drive and almost uncanny empathy with your clients, both seller and purchaser alike, and your determination to be the best you can, both for yourself and others. You have proved that records are meant to be broken and have shown that there are no limits - other than those you set yourself.
I know that I speak on behalf of my co-directors, our management team and indeed the entire company when I say we hold you in the highest esteem and that you are an inspiration to us all. You are an icon in our Company and indeed in the residential real estate industry itself. Thank you for being who and what you are.”

I commit and dedicate myself to continue to be of service, offering the highest standard of ethical professionalism and integrity.
